Doyle’s Funeral Directors has been serving families in New Ross and the surrounding areas since 1958, when Luke Doyle and his father, Tom Doyle, began the family funeral business.
Jamie Doyle followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather and today continues the family tradition as the third generation of the Doyle family in funeral directing. Luke remains involved in the family business, bringing a lifetime of experience and continuing a tradition that has now spanned almost seven decades.
Jamie holds the Certificate in Funeral Practice from the Irish Association of Funeral Directors and has many years of experience in the funeral profession. His wife Denise is a qualified embalmer and member of the British Institute of Embalmers. Together with their team, they provide a personal funeral service centred on the individual wishes of each family, guiding them through every stage of the arrangements.
Our Funeral Home in New Ross
Built in 1812, The Old Rectory in Rosbercon was carefully renovated and refurbished by Jamie and Denise Doyle before opening as Doyle’s Funeral Home in September 2014.
Set within 2.4 acres of mature trees and lawns, our New Ross funeral home offers families a private and peaceful setting, with ample parking within the grounds. The funeral home includes two viewing rooms, two family rooms, a tea station, coffin showroom and dedicated facilities for the professional care and preparation of the deceased.
Families can also choose to hold a funeral or committal ceremony at The Old Rectory. A committal ceremony is the final farewell before burial or cremation. For families choosing cremation, this means the service and final farewell can take place here at the funeral home, with the deceased then taken privately to the crematorium, rather than the family having to travel there for a further service.
The Old Rectory also provides an option for families who would prefer a civil or non-religious funeral, with arrangements tailored to their individual wishes.
The distinctive tree featured in the Doyle’s logo stands within the grounds of The Old Rectory and has become part of the identity of the family funeral home.

What should I do when someone dies?
Contact us as soon as you are ready. We will guide you through what needs to happen next and help you with the funeral arrangements, including bringing your loved one into our care, funeral notices, burial or cremation arrangements and the funeral service itself.
Can I contact you before a death occurs?
Yes. If someone is nearing the end of life, you are very welcome to contact us in advance. There is no obligation to make arrangements at this stage, but talking through the options beforehand can make things a little easier when the time comes.
Can we have a funeral without a church service?
Yes. Funerals do not have to follow a traditional religious format. Civil and non-religious funeral ceremonies can be arranged, and families can discuss with us the type of service that best reflects their own wishes and those of the person who has died.
Can a funeral service be held at Doyle’s Funeral Home?
Yes. The Old Rectory in Rosbercon provides families with the option of holding a funeral or committal ceremony at the funeral home, in addition to its facilities for wakes, repose and private family gatherings.
What is a committal ceremony?
A committal ceremony is the final farewell before burial or cremation.
